This was my first time on the Hungaroring track. Also the team grew up, two cousins joining our group:Adi Teodorescu and Cristi Andrei. The weather conditions were great so I was expecting a good racing weekend.
During the practice sessions I had some problems with the brakes, so I once ended in the gravel before the chicane (8th corner). After I changed the brake pads, everything came back to normal and the bike ran superbly for the rest of the weekend. I have to thank to my teammate Dan Demetrescu for the new set of pads that he kindly offered me.
On Saturday afternoon it was organized an endurance race in which I was part of the "Xtreme Riders" team, together with Dan Tudorache, Adi Teodorescu and Cristi Andrei. I took the third shift and I was on track for 19 laps. My personal best lap was 2:14.243. As the initial plan was that each of us would be on track for about 45 minutes and the safety car was on the track when I left the track, Dan Tudorache was forced to wait for about 5 minutes before he could enter the race. This costed us about two laps and we finished the race on the 28th position. We could have been somewhere in the 18-22 position... The best laptime of the team belonged to Dan Tudorache, and it was 2:10.460.

The Sunday race found me somewhere on the last lines of the starting grid, but I was satisfied I was able to qualify for this race, given the fact that I was at Hungaroring for the first time. The start of the race is not my strongest point, so this one was not better. After a few corners, when I was still struggling in the pack, at the second corner of the chicane (9th corner) a rider cut into my path and I had to leave the track in order to avoid a crash... but this is racing! At that moment I lost 5-6 positions and after that I started to recover. You can see the incident at minute 1:29 of the part one on-board video.
I finished the race on the 18th position, 0.3 seconds behind Cristina Udrescu, as you can see in the race results. My best lap was 2:11.764.
