Hobby Racing

This stage was organized for the first time on the Pannoniaring track only by Romanian Superbike. It was a double stage, with two races counting for the championship. Also there were some special prizes for the first timers on this track who could do a lap time better than 2:10. There were some side contests for the best picture and the best video filmed at this stage. For the starting grid of the Superbike class (1000cc) it was organized a superpole session.

The end of the first training day found me on the 21st position of the Superbike class, with a best time of 2:15.916, as is shown on this timesheet. Unfortunately, this laptime was not done in a qualifying session, so my qualifying time was 2:16.663. This placed me on the 31^st position of the SBK class, as you can see here. Because at this stage didn't participate many foreign pilots, it was for the first time that I had the possibility to be on the starting grid of the A class race. But, taking into account my lack of experience, I decided to stay with the B class.

The second day was the day of the first race, but I was not lucky enough and I suffered a lowside crash on the exit of the 7^th corner, during one of the training sessions. I was ok, but the bike needed repairing (the seat was broken). The start of the first race found me fixing the bike. Better luck tommorow. Anyway, this was the day when I registered my best lap of the week-end, 2:14.707, which placed me on the 49^th overall position.

Sunday morning we had a short warmup session for each class just before the races start. With the bike freshly fixed I made a couple of laps which seemed ok, but in the short straight after the 11^th curve the bike suddenly started to shake. Because the 12^th curve was coming very fast, I was afraid to lean the bike and I decided to brake as much as I could before going straight in the sand. This was a bad decision because it made the bike wobble even more and I crashed for the second time this weekend. So I missed the second race, also. Looking at the final standings of the race, I could have hoped a top 10 finish - but, in order win a race, the first step is to be in that race!

The team was the same as the one at Hungaroring stage: Dan Demetrescu, Ionut Pasere, Adi Teodorescu, Dan Tudorache and Cristi Andrei.
